MENLO PARK, June 27, 2006 (PodTech News) — In a San Francisco news conference Monday, Intel announced it’s shipping a new chip, the Xeon processor 5100 “Woodcrest”, to power network servers. PodTech News talked with Boyd Davis, Intel’s General Manager of Server Platforms Group Marketing, about the announcement. In other Intel news, the company announced Tuesday it’s selling off the division that makes processors for handheld devices to Marvell Technology Group, Limited, in a $600 million dollar deal.
