Werner HerzogSAN FRANCISCO, April 30, 2006 (PodTech News) — Acclaimed film director Werner Herzog says new developments in film making occurring around the world coupled with advancements in feature and documentary production are optimistic signs for the independent cinema industry. Digital technology is one reason. But he warns that the move toward home theater systems will give the industry a challenge.

Herzog was honored at the 2006 San Francisco International Film Festival. Podtech’s Jason Lopez met with the director the day after the screening of his newest film, based on found footage, called The Wild Blue Yonder.
