Brian Chee Photo - Interop - PodTechBrian Chee, a long time veteran of the InteropNET team and a team lead for wireless, talks with PodTech’s Jason Lopez about the beginnings of the Interoperability event, in the mid-eighties. Hot Stage happens a month before Interop. A huge network is built up, then broken down and recreated at the Interop conference in Las Vegas. It’s a cooperative industrial testing ground, where manufacturers get a chance to see if their products work “in the real world”. Brian Chee, is Senior Contributing Editor, InfoWorld Media Group and Director of the Advanced Network Computing Laboratory at the University of Hawaii’s School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST).
