Mouse Potatoes, It’s Official: “To google” Is A Verb

MENLO PARK, July 7, 2006 (PodTech News) — New tech words, including “technopreneur”, “to google”, and “mouse potato” have found their way into the pages of Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, Eleventh Edition, to be published this fall. “Technology words have a been a rich source of vocabulary in English for a little over a decade now,” said Peter Sokolowski, an Associate Editor at Merriam-Webster Incorporated. Sokolowski talked with PodTech’s Catherine Girardeau about the new tech words, and how words are selected for the dictionary.
