Intel Chip Chat – Network Insights audio podcast with Allyson Klein: Pal Gronsund, Senior Research Scientist at Telenor ASA, joins Intel Chip Chat Network Insights from SDN NFV World Congress at The Hague to discuss virtualization and automation for communication service providers in 2019. Pal and his team are responsible for facilitating research around NFV and SDN and introducing virtual network functions to the network. In this interview, Pal speaks to software capabilities today and where the open source community needs to go in order to be ready for 5G. He describes three areas of excitement currently driving network automation. Pal highlights why network slicing such a compelling technology with 5G, and what that means from a network automation standpoint.
