SAN FRANCISCO, April 26, 2006 (PodTech News) – Sequoia Capital partner and Internet investor Mark Kvamme told an AdTech 2006 keynote audience that content on the web is performing better than many people think. He says IP-based video often beats network television. “[YouTube] effectively has a 4.0 Nielsen rating. Guess what, they’re almost twice the rating of MTV–the viewership is phenomenal,” Kvamme announced. YouTube is one of the companies he has invested in, but he offers that Yahoo and many other online media companies are building impressive audience levels. “If the United States just had 20 percent of retail online we would create $1.2 trillion of revenue for companies.”
