SAN FRANCISCO, December 21, 2006 (PodTech News) — The Federal Communications Commission took a step toward deregulation of video franchises. Good news for the telephone companies, and just in time for Christmas. Also, liquid lenses may finally be coming to a mobile phone near you — the technology that could one day eliminate moving parts in your zoom has to start somewhere. The BBC is making some of its programming legally downloadable via a peer-to-peer service, while the movie download space got a little more crowded. Those stories, and a Stat of the Day.
