Akamai is in the heart of content delivery and media cloud and Will’s team is responsible for vast majority of the traffic in their content delivery networks. Will reveals how Akamai is scaling web technology to deliver the exponential growth Akamai is seeing, with a network peak record reaching 80 terabits per second.
Akamai provided the content delivery network for the 8K VR real time streaming demonstration that involved Intel, Tiledmedia, Iconic Engine, several other companies. Hear Will’s perspective addressing the challenge of representing a virtual environment remotely. Will explains where Akamai is investing in the edge network deployments to deliver that the next level of compute capability at the edge.
