In what he calls one of the most volatile regions in the world, Matt Young is helping companies modernize their IT. In this segment, Nutanix senior vice president of sales for Asia-Pacific-Japan region describes how he deals with demanding managers and cautious executives from cultures dating to ancient times as they grapple with 21st Century realities. He oversees enterprise software sales across a diverse collection of countries that include Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, and more. The region is home to more than 60% of the world’s population. “We get North Korea lobbing missiles, earthquakes, tsunamis and even bird flu,” he said. “But it’s also the most exciting and fastest-growing region in the world — with huge opportunities.”

He describes how Japan and AUstralia were an early adopter of cloud services, but now are focused on private cloud or hybrid cloud environments. “Businesses want that cloud-like experience on-premises,” Young said.
