While at the Detroit Auto Show (proper name, the North American International Auto Show), I spoke with Freeman Thomas, Ford’s design director, at North American Strategic Design, about the new Airstream concept. Being a lover of the outdoors and car-camping, this vehicle immediately caught my attention for its cool features and attributes. Retro and modern at the same time, with details that bring to mind Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, the Ford Airstream is sure to get your attention too. I just wish it were a production vehicle, and not merely a concept vehicle.
