“If I lived in a house, I probably have more uses for a level than I do on a boat,” optics engineer Tim Litvin admitted. Boats, even when berthed in a harbor as Litvin’s is in Santa Cruz, California, rock back and forth. The Cornerstone Classic, a self leveling laser tool for builders which generates three complete planes of laser light, would not come in handy on Sala-ma-Sond, the boat on which he lives. But the sounds of the harbor and the sea, and the aroma of the ocean turns out to the inspiration Litvin needs to design and craft high end laser instruments. In this photoshow you will meet Tim and hear his story.
