Advanced Photographic Research at Stanford with Prof. Marc Levoy
October 25th, 2007
Photographers, don’t miss this one! It’s an interview with Thomas Hawk and Marc Levoy, Stanford University Professor, who is jointly appointed in computer science and electrical engineering. But that’s the geeky way of explaining this dude is doing some radical stuff with cameras. He shows us a camera that can refocus the image AFTER you shoot it! Talks about other research to stitch images together, digitize statues, among many others.

I’m in Finland, love podtech videos, but the download times are horrible. Your servers don’t even support resume or multiple connections so I can accelerate my download speed. I have 24 megabits down and I’m grabbing this at 35 kb/s. Please fix this, I love your “boring and long” videos.
Just an FYI: I’m using the latest version of FireFox, and when I pop up the podtech player from Google Reader for a specific podcast, I am not going to the cast the post link would lead me to believe I should be seeing. Instead I am seeing the next one on the list of podcasts, which forces me to click the “playlist” button in order to find the video I originally wanted to see.
Otherwise, great stuff. Glad you’re still in business
