Interop Keynote: Chambers Touts Unified Collaboration
LAS VEGAS, NV, May 2, 2006 (PodTech News) — Cisco CEOJohn Chambers told an Interop keynote audience his company is so committed to the concept of unified collaboration that it borrowed money for the first time in its history in order to finance the $6.9 billion acquisition of Scientific Atlanta announced last November. “As this changes and the speed of this collaboration changes, and you communicate by whatever anytime you want in any format you want, and you get the information back anywhere you want in any format you want then you see speed of decision change,” he offered. “I literally think you’ll have complete virtualization of storage, application and processors,” Chambers noted while standing below a slide that read, “The network is the most scalable price performance platform since the microprocessor.”
