MENLO PARK, July 24, 2006 (PodTech News)–“I doubt that we’re going to see any gaming functionality, at least in the first device. They were pretty clear with me that they weren’t going in that direction,” said analyst Michael Gartenberg of Jupiter Research, adding that they won’t confuse the xBox gaming platform with the music and video platform.

Gartenberg was part of a select few briefed by Microsoft Corporation about its new digital music player, called Zune. PodTech’s Catherine Girardeau talks with Gartenberg about what it will take for Microsoft to beat Apple at their own tune when competing not only against the iPod and iTunes, but also with a guy named Steve Jobs.
