Intel Research Day: Money
Intel research is a curious thing. The company is obviously known for making computer chips in which it invests billions of dollars on research and development every year. But lesser known and endlessly fascinating is the company’s investigation into human activity itself.
The chipmaking industry has gone from asking how to make faster chips, to asking how to make chips do exactly what users expect them to do. To achieve that is very difficult. In this podcast, Intel researcher Scott Manwairing investigates how people use money, especially as it transitions from a hard currency state to a digital one, and Hsain Ilahiane asks whether Muslim charities can reveal how to distribute technology access to the poor in the Islamic world. It’s more than just about numbers.
