    That is an excellent introduction to steampunk. As a steampunk author I find myself having to answer that core question all the time, “what is steampunk?”

    The answer, I guess, is, it’s complicated. Because it’s such an unprecedented intermingling of fashion, performance art, traditional art, fiction and aesthetic it’s hard for the uninitiated to grasp.

    I do always find these videos tend to gloss over the fiction aspect of steampunk, but I guess it’s only natural, since writing does not have the visual appeal of a monstrous flame-spewing cyber octopus at Burning Man.

    Keep up the good work, now that I’ve found this site I’ll be visiting again.
