The Intel Science and Technology Center for Embedded Computing at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will conduct research in four basic areas: Collaborative Perception which is essentially computer vision, Real-time Knowledge Discovery which includes machine learning, Robotics, and Embedded Systems Architecture. Embedded systems, used in automobiles, homes and many products, are already having a profound effect on everyday life. As these systems become smarter they could bring about radical change in how we benefit from technology. The Intel Science and Technology Center for Embedded Computing is led by Mei Chen, Intel Principal Investigator, and Priya Narasimhan, Co-Principal Investigator and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
