Intel is expected to give details about its new Viiv platform when its CEO, Paul Otellini, gives a keynote speech today at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show being held in Las Vegas. PodTech News’ Jason Lopez had a few minutes with the head of the world’s biggest chipmaker to comment on the market ahead of the speech.

Intel clearly has their eye on the ball as Internet adoption continues to grow and multimedia takes center stage. Intel’s CEO sees video exploding across the computing landscape and putting more computing power in hands of everyday users is Intel’s goal.

It’s clear that CES is moving beyond Gadgets…”hello video on demand and no it’s not broadcast TV”.
