MENLO PARK, June 26, 2006 (PodTech News) — Microsoft unveiled what it calls a “unified communications product road map and partner ecosystem” at a press event in San Francisco today. “The announcement indicates Microsoft’s significant effort to move into a new market, which includes a great deal of communications functionality,” said Gartner, Inc.analyst Bern Elliot in a telephone interview from the announcement at San Francisco’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
