We’re really happy to post the official list of The Vloggies winners announced on Saturday night. Many congratulations to Alive in Baghdad, which won six awards including Favorite Vlog, Favorite Group Blog, Favorite Political Vlog, and Favorite Interview Vlog. Alive in Baghdad also won the People’s Choice Award for Best Group Vlog and Most Controversial Vlog. If you don’t already know, Alive in Baghdad was created by American and Iraqi news correspondents to show interviews with Iraqis, daily life in Iraq and short news segments. Brian Conley was there to accept the awards. Along with the recognition came a prize from Intel — a Core 2 Duo laptop. Ask a Ninja took home four awards, including the People’s Choice Award for Best Vlog, and Galacticast was another broad winner with five awards.

Congratulations to all 600+ nominees, and thanks to everyone who helped to craft the first annual Vloggies. Special thanks again to our sponsors, all of whom contributed to making The Vloggies happen: Yahoo! Video, Intel, blip.tv, Dabble, GUBA, Intel, Revver, Pandora, and WebEx. We look forward to working with the community to continue supporting videobloggers and showcasing their work. And we can’t wait to see what next year will bring…

Thanks to Scott Beale / Laughing Squid for the photo.

The Vloggervangelist Award

The Vloggervangelist award is a special award given from the PodTech Vloggies planning committee to a vlogosphere activist who has done an extraordinary job promoting the vlogging medium. This award was not selected by judges or viewers, rather the vlogosphere people who have worked closely with PodTech and would like to recognize one person at each annual Vloggies event for their tireless work in helping people build and establish their vlogs! The First Annual Vloggervangelist Award Winner is Michael Verdi and for all of his work on NODE101.
