The 3D Internet is a rapidly converging set of technologies used for visualizing information on the web in game-like 3D environments. This convergence promises to allow future Internet users to interact with people and information in ways that are much more natural and intuitive than today’s Internet. The ScienceSim virtual world is a 3D Internet application being developed as a tool for visualization, education, training and scientific discovery.
