“Warning: You are listening to an unencrypted Podcast! Others may be able to hear the information intransmission!”

This is Podtech.net , I’m Michael Johnson. You’ve probably seen a similar mesage from an unsecure webpage about the data you transmit, but what about data at rest, the stuff on that hard drive or server? It’s a stationary and tempting target for security threats according to Kevin Brown, VP of Marketing for DECRU. We spoke with Brown on a previous podcast about the Uncompromised Security Initiative. At RSA 2006 in San Jose, California he gave us an update.

Listen to Kevin Brown, VP of Marketing for DECRU. He talks about security issues for stored information, or “data at rest”, ” … What’s happening is that the megabytes in flight are safe and the terrabytes at rest now… are really at risk … ” This is part 4 of a 4 part post at RSA.
