MENLO PARK, September 22, 2006 (PodTech News) — Hewlett-Packard held a press briefing this afternoon at which they refused to answer any questions. HP CEO and President Mark Hurd, along with Mike Holston, a representative of Morgan Lewis, the law firm HP has retained to investigate HP’s leak investigation, each spoke at the press event. The main points: Patricia Dunn has resigned from HP’s board, effective immediately. Mark Hurd will take over her job as board chairman immediately, instead of in January 2007. Mike Holston said that Hurd approved both the concept and content of misinformation emailed to a journalist. The email was set up to be apparently from “a disgruntled senior HP executive” and was designed to encourage the journalist to share confidential sources. PodTech News brings you audio of the full press conference.
