Intel Chip Chat – Network Insights audio podcast with Allyson Klein: Gerardo Garcia de Blas, Technological Expert of Network Virtualization at Telefónica, discusses the importance of network virtualization to achieve automation and speed delivery of new services to customers. He examines the history of Telefónica’s collaboration with Intel to optimize infrastructure for virtual network delivery at each step of their network transformation. Most recently, Telefónica experienced 20% to 80% performance improvement on the new Intel Xeon Scalable processors over the previous Intel platform across a variety of workloads. Gerardo also explains the importance of ETSI Open Source MANO (OSM) to oversee these platforms with the rise of virtual networks in the communications space.
