Intel Chip Chat: Network Insights – Sab Gosal, Segment Manager of the Communication Infrastructure Division at Intel, discusses the increasing importance of cyber security and the role of packet inspection technologies like Hyperscan. Sab describes how Hyperscan is different from common content inspection functions that are in custom hardware or FPGA boards. Hyperscan is a pure software solution allowing for deep and rapid packet inspection deployed on standard high volume servers. Sab shares that Intel is open sourcing Hyperscan to enable the developer community to drive innovative, high performance solutions based on Intel architecture.
